The Project is located in the St.Dominic's Contact Centre, St.Dominic' Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

It was set up in 1995 to provide a positive and practical response to the deteriorating drugs situation/crisis within the St Dominic's parish area.
The Project emerged from a real concern that local people had about the worsening drugs situation. There was a clear recognition of the need to develop a number of actions in relation to the drugs issue - actions which would be aimed at active/recovering drug users and actions aimed at people who were in danger of becoming involved in drugs. The promoters of the project clearly identified the need to work on a number of different levels: to work with individual drug users, to work with the parents/family of drug users, to carry out education and preventative work with children and young people around the drugs issue.
The main wings of the service are:
- Stabilization Project. This is a one year structured programme to support participants who continue to struggle with substance dependence. Participants attend 20 hours per week for one year and are eligible for a supplementary payment under the auspices of FAS C.E. Scheme.
- Drop In. This is open each Friday from 11.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. It offers tea, coffee and a chat in an informal atmosphere.
- Counselling. Crisis intervention and Counselling on a one to one basis is available to individuals and family members affected by drug misuse.
- Family Support. The family support group meet each Tuesday evening in St. Dominic's Contact Centre from 7.30 to 9.00 pm.
- Cocaine programme. St Dominic's in conjunction with Carp Killinarden offer a support service to people affected by Cocaine misuse. This is a confidential service - contact phone no: 086-8230678.
