The ethos of the school is to create a relaxed but constructive teaching and learning environment in which each child is treated as an individual with unique requirements.

 

The curriculum subjects taught include English, Irish, Maths, History, Geography, Religion, Art & Craft, P.E., Music, Science and SPHE, - Social, Personal and Health Education

 

Apart from the class teachers there are two Learning Support Teachers, a Home/School Liaison Teacher, a Special Needs Teacher, two Resource Teachers, a Support Teacher and Resource Teacher for Travellers and Sports Coaches.  A speech and drama teacher comes into the school each week and all children attend these classes.

 

Various trips to Libraries, Art Galleries, Theatres and Sporting occasions are organized throughout the year.

 

There is also a Rainbows club in the school which helps children with bereavement/separation.  Counsellors are also available to the school.
