You will be required to submit a new-issued Baptismal Certificate; a Confirmation Certificate; a Letter of Freedom from any parish in which you have lived for 6 months or more since you were 16 years of age, stating that you did not contract a marriage there.
  • Both parties must meet a civil registrar at least three months before the wedding to give notice of their intention to marry. The civil registrar will take the details of the wedding.
  • They will need to bring the following documentation with them when they visit the registrar: photo identity (preferably a passport or driving licence); names and dates of birth of witnesses; name of the church where they wish to be married; date of marriage; name of the priest who will officiate at the marriage.
  • The couple will then receive the marriage registration form (MRF) from the civil registrar.
  • They bring the MRF to the priest.
