Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina is a way of reading the Bible. It is not speed reading with a view to getting to the end of the text as quickly as possible. In Lectio you have to quieten down and stop the rush. It is the rush you want to get away from and just wonder and reflect and pray over a sentence, a word of the Bible This sort of reading is reverential listening; listening both in a spirit of silence and openness listening for the still, small voice of God that will speak personally - not loudly, but intimately. In prayerful bible reading, we read slowly, attentively, gently listening to hear a word or phrase that is God's word for us this day.
Lectio Divina takes place in the presbytery on Thursday at 8.00 pm.
