For months before their confirmation, the young people have been preparing under the guidance of Teachers, Parents, Priests, Sisters and Faith Friends.

Who are those Faith Friends? They are a small group of women from this parish who act as special friends to Confrimation children.  The Faith Friends follow a structured program and the meet with the Confirmation classes on three seperate mornings for 1 hour and also for a morning retreat in the Priory Retreat House.

The Faith Friends encourage them to speak about their lives, ambitions and worries, pointing out how special they are.  They also help them recognize their gifts and discuss the different ways of handling their emotions.

Faith Friends are also involved in the Ceremony of Light.  This is held a week before the Confirmation.

For the past 3 years we have been facilitating a family spirituality program for parents of children receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.  This takes place on three consecutive weeks for approximately on hour. A video is shown and discussed and a book is given to be read at home.
